Appearance: Shu has a round face, a bronzy complexion, black round eyes and dark-brown long jagged hair. His hair is dressed in a ponytail with a red hair-tie, he wears a black top, a yellow pants a red ribbon around it, blue protective sleeves, blue legwarmers and brown boots
Personality: He has a brash and impetuous nature that has often gotten him into trouble. But his courage, strength and dogged determination has saved him from certain death many times. He is also protective and caring of his friends.

He refuses to give up no matter what the circumstance is, to the extent of having the catchphrase: "I won't give up!". Still, he does know when to run away when it means to protect the people he cares about.

Clan Name: Nara
Clan History: The Nara clan (奈良一族, Nara Ichizoku) or Nara family (奈良家, Nara-ke) is known for their manipulation of shadows and tending of deer, which graze in a large area of Nara clan forest. They have kept a book with medicine preparations and effects for generations which imply they are skilled in the area of medicine. Among the medicine described in this book are the secret pills used by the Akimichi clan.

Despite being considered geniuses, the men from this family are prone to being lazy and hard to motivate. Ironically, they tend to be attracted to stern, overbearing women. However, there appear to be other factors as well. The Nara men seem to hold women in high esteem, and as a result, willingly defer to their female partners. Shikaku Nara tells his son "Without women, men can't be born. Without women, men go to ruin. Even the hardest of women will show a sweet side to the man she loves and respects."

The Nara, like many clans of old, have travelled and can now be found in most of the major nations and even a few of the minor nations surprisingly. It isn’t uncommon for them to be simple farmers or local apothecaries if they became too lethargic to carry on with their normal shinobi activities.

History: Shu was born to Hirashi and Lena Nara. They lived as normal villagers tended a rice farm on the hills surrounding kumogakure. As a baby Shu showed extraordinary energy, always crying and fighting and this energy continued into his early childhood. Any time his father or mother were working out in the field he would be hot on their tails running at full speed behind them.

When Shu was three, a band of thieves attacked the Nara farm. Both of his parrents were killed in the attack. Shu survived only due to his mother's quick thinking and stuck him inside of a rice sack to hide. Kumo ninja arrived the next day and discovered him, Shu's Grandfather, Fushira Nara was among them and discovered his grandchild. He took Shu to the village and raised him. The rest of the kumo ninja tracked down and killed his parent's murderers.

Fushira was formerly an esteemed ninja of kumokagure, however once he began taking care of Shu and also due to his advanced age he retired and began working as a Blacksmith creating tools and weapons for the village. Shu's over abundance of energy and nature led Fushira to decide to enroll him in the ninja academy.

When Shu first entered the academy he was like any other newly accepted child, very clumsy and unfocused. learning chakra control was the toughest part of the academy for him, however being at the academy and seeing others to whom he could compare himself to allowed him to persevere and strive to overcome what others had done. He developed a very competitive attitude and would make bold boasts to other students and challenge them to different competitions based on what they were learning. He would compare himself to that of the mythical dragon, and when he fought, his fighting would seem to imitate the movements of such.

After some time, Fushira determined that Shu had grown quite proficient and began teaching his grandson some of the hidden arts of the Nara clan. Passing down to him the secret techniques of the Art of the Shadow. Shu then began to learn how to manipulate his own shadow, and use his shadow to manipulate his opponent.  He had a few laughs using his shadow to play a tricks on some of the students in class causing them to sieze up when answering questions as well as helping friends by teaching them how to properly move when using techniques.

Shortly before graduating from the academy, shu was out exploring in the nearby hillside when he got caught past nightfall in a torrential downpour. The resulting rainfall caused the ground to become muddy and caused him to get stuck in the mud. the ground started to tremble began to give way, as a mudslide began to form with shu caught in the middle. He began to slide down the hillside reaching for anything he could grab to keep his head up. As he struggled his hand found a small entrenched tree, to which he grabbed and held on tightly. His eyes squinting in the dark could just make out the view of an avalanche of rocks and boulders heading his way. His fear turned into rage and he shouted out. His body became covered in a blue aura of chakra and his shadow extended forward, also glowing blue. it began to expand and took the shape of a winged figure. Without warning the shadow took form and rose from the ground. It roared loudly, causing the ground to shake and the rocks to crumble from the shockwave.  The rain stopped, the glowing blue presence seeming to disturb the heavens. The winged shadow dragon stared down at the young child it was attached to before scooping him up and carrying him to safety. Ninja discovering him shortly afterward.

The Dragon, shu discovered, was of another dimention and due to the actions of one of Shu's ancestors that shu was able to bind the dragon to himself in a time of great durress. This dragon would forevermore remain with Shu as a part of him, sharing his body.  Shu didn't understand the details... all he really cared about was the fact his new best friend was a dragon!

Taking advantage of his new partner, shu began training with the dragon and started to learn how to master his new found abilities. Even when not summoned, he could talk to him from inside his head and as they fought they seemed to share a sort of mental connection. A bond that would become one of shu's great strengths. 

About six months later Shu graduated from the academy and was given the official title of Genin.
