[FB]A new ANBU leader

Ryu was stationed a few hours distance from his beloved Seikogakure. Spending most of his childhood and practically all his life in the village had made him grow too fond of the village. Ryu had been away for a little while, again with the ANBU. His fame in the village for his efficiency in missions had pushed him to enter the ANBU root of the village. Currently, he was now a well known member of the ANBU and also the only member who was chosen to enter the root while he was a chunin. Considering the root took only younger members, it alone showed about Ryu’s prowess in his KKG and other skills as a shinobi.

Night had fallen, and as the leader of the dispatched party, Ryu had decided to make camp for the night. His fellow team members were tired from the exhausting recon mission they had been on. Sometimes a target isn’t easy to track and keep an eye on. It just proves too much of a work even for a 3 member team. All the three were jounin’s, yet their target was an elusive missing ninja. They had however, managed to keep Ryu’s flawless record, still flawless. The other members were resting, he wasn’t sure whether they were asleep or not. Ryu was on guard duty, though he didn’t need to concern himself much, since they were in close proximity to the village. But, he wasn’t one to make such mistakes. Better safe than sorry.

He was sitting on a tree branch, of coarse their were no camp fires. The sky was clean and the moon was full. With his face towards the village, he thought to himself, ”…sigh. It would be nice to be back home.” Unaware as to what would await the young jounin upon his return.

The current ANBU leader, Drogan had all the pieces set. In a few hours, he would put his plan in motion. It had been tiring to get where he now stood, being the leader of the ANBU and having a few members under his control and influence. He never did grow fond of the Tsukikage. It had been so unnerving to act under a kage who isn’t so hands on about gaining power as he was. He was of the view that in order to maintain peace the village needed power. More and more, as much as they could get. He thought that they should reach out and catch any bijuu, having jinchuriki in the village would make the village more feared, and provide more control.

Soon, as it would grow dark, Drogan’s treason would begin. The ANBU members would launch an assault from all directions in the village, as a diversion to the real attack that Drogan would do himself. He intended to take on the Tsukikage and take him down once and for all. Once he was kage he would do all that he was aiming for, without the nuisance of listening to the current kage.

Character Profile:

Mokusei stood there in his office, well aware of the current issue that now plagued the village. The spy he had sent into the midst of the ANBU traitors, had come back and he had reported that the coup d'etat was to be held tonight. The man was now recovering from a battle Mokusei had staged, so the traitors wouldn't ask of his whereabouts during their revolt. I don't know how it all got this out of hand. Drogan, he had been so loyal in the beginning, what had happened to him, had I been the cause of his new lust for power? He had seemed so calm before, had the power been too much for him? Was that why this was occurring? Right focus, too many questions here, no time in which to think them all through. Mokusei knew what was coming, where they would attack, and when, but he lacked the resources or men to properly coordinate a counterstrike, and it seemed Drogan knew this.

Mokusei stepped out of his office, and looked at his village, in all it's beauty. He then saw something fly up into the air, faint but definitely there, before it exploded. With the flare let off, Dragon and his men moved into battle, all of the loyalists entering from every side of the village they could, with Drogan heading up the front, determined to come straight for Mokusei. "I hate that this has to happen, but before the day is out, I'll need a new ANBU Leader."

Ryu wasn't one to fall asleep while he guarded his comrades. So he was still up when it all began. The sky was lit up with fire, lightening. It would have been beautiful if it didn't have the intent to kill merged deeply in it. He wasn’t one to suspect his superiors, he was one of those who wouldn’t know things till it hit them right in the face. He had been following the path of traitor but he didn’t knew  that yet. The group was camped a few hours from the gates of seikogakure. The lit up sky woke the ANBU that were asleep, or it was more that they knew what had begun. One of them spoke, ”it seems, it has begun.” The other ANBU member replied, ”Indeed. Now, we need to know whose side, Ryu is on” That would’ve caught anyone’s attention. Ryu turned to face the two, they didn’t seem tired anymore, it was as if they were waiting for “it” to begin.

Ryu asked with a surprised look on his face, though, at the point it was pretty clear as to what was going on. ”Join, what exactly?” The ANBU holding a kunai headed for Ryu,”Don’t play dumb Ryu. You know it.” It appeared his worst fear had come to life. As the sky over the village was lit with the destruction that had begun, no one would’ve noticed the battle that undertook a few miles away from the village gates. Ryu being who he was, didn’t take much time in putting an end to the two fellow ANBU members. Though, it would have been more appropriate to leave them alive, but in his opinion they had committed the ultimate sin and thus could not be forgiven. Ryu made his way towards the village, dressed in his work attire. His face masked, and his eyes filled with just not rage but concern for the people of the village, the shinobi unaware of what was headed for them. And even more, the kage. His life was in danger, and seeing as to how short handed he was. It wouldn’t be a pretty situation for the kage to take on Drogan and the elite ANBU that had sided with him. Ryu, needed to hurry.


On his order, the plan had now been executed. Drogan leading two men to attack the kage, while his other loyal members would keep the shinobi at bay with the attacks at different corners of seikogakure. He would land 10m away from the Kage, right in front of him. While the two ANBU standing 2 feet behind him, ready to intercept any attacks launched. Drogan would have a serious look on his face, he wasn’t there for a tea party, no. His intentions were clear, over throw the kage. Control his bijuu, and then, grasp all the power awaiting him out there.

Staring into the eyes of the kage, Drogan spoke, ”If you plan on not suffering much, just give up and make it easy on yourself, Mokusei.” He chewed up the name of the kage, no longer did he had that tone of respect. He saw just another opponent in front of him. And this was his way of showing mercy, he would just kill Mokusei if he gave up and take on the bijuu, sealing it within himself. Or at least that’s what he had planned. He won’t wait for an answer, no. Of coarse, it was obvious. The man was the Tsukikage, he wasn’t going to give up. Making the hand seals, Drogan launched a lightening based attack at Mokusei, shaped in the form of a piercing fang in a straight direction with great speed. With his attack, the two ANBU would also leap into action.

Tech of Drogan:

Within a few minutes of the flare going off, the village was in disarray, fires had started everywhere. The traitors had all began their onslaught, and everywhere, Mokusei could sense the feeling of death, without the need of any jutsu. People were dying, he had to end it. Seeing this had confirmed what he had worried about for the past day. He hadn't known if he'd be able to kill Drogan, but after seeing all this death and destruction, Mokusei's will had become steel. The civilians all being murdered would be avenged tenfold. These traitors would not just be executed, Mokusei would see to it personally they died in the most painful of ways. They would suffer, and then they would die.

It was in that moment of true anger that bliss followed, and Mokusei caught the sight of Drogan, in front of him, roughly ten metres away, asking him to surrender, and make it easy on himself without the need for any suffering on Mokusei. The Tetsukage looked at his former ANBU Leader and friend, with no emotion on his face, and spoke, "How many people have you killed Drogan. Innocent people, just so you could challenge me? If you wished to take my position, none of this was necessary, you could've just fought me and then tried to beat me, and you would become the second Kage. But it seems you have made up your mind, as have I. Forgive me for ruining your plans, but I shall not be the one who suffers here tonight." Mokusei knew Drogan's tactics, as did Drogan know his, as well as the Four Tailed sealed within Mokusei, so trying to outsmart him would prove difficult, but possible. To start, Mokusei would do nothing, and await his attacker's first move, it was much easier that way, because defending himself he could do. Willingly initiating battle against his long time friend, that was a different matter.

Luckily he wouldn't have to wait long, as Drogan used his Lightning Fang on Mokusei. He knew the jutsu well, as Drogan had always, and only, prided himself on his use of Raiton jutsu. As such, his surprises were limited, and he wouldn't be able to do much. Mokusei, on the other hand, knew exactly what to do. being faster tha most, he easily dodged the attack, and when the two weaker ANBU moved into attack, Mokusei had planned on it already. This was a jutsu he didn't like using much, usually it was an insta-kill move, but that's what he was aiming to do. Powering chakra into his fist, he waited, until the last second when the two ANBU were right at him. Then he brought his right fist around in an arc, hitting both of them. Their skulls were instantly crushed, and they went flying away outside the village, into one of the other traitors, giving an ANBU loyalist the chance to kill. All that was left, was Drogan.

Jutsu Used:

Ryu had finally reached the gates of seikogakure. The sight that awaited him, wasn’t pretty but he was expecting something like that. Yet even though he had calculated what would be tagging along the noises and explosions he had heard from a far but still, watching his village in such a grim situation. He felt the urge to go on a rampage, and kill all of those who were responsible. It boiled his blood, no it enraged him to his very core. And to top it all, all of the chaos, the massacre and the destruction was caused by the people he had been fighting along for so long. He was a part of the organization who was responsible for all of this. It was a feeling that made him wanna cry, and he wanted to blame himself for being so stupid not to realize what was being planned. He was in the organization and something like this needed detailed planning, but he had no idea this was happening. How pitiful his  situation was at that time, he was lost, standing still at the gates, just watching what was happening around him, playing the blame game.

Who knows how long he just stood there, but his series of thoughts were interrupted, when he saw two lifeless bodies of ANBUs making their way out of the village. The bodies were recognizable as ANBUs because of their unique attire and masks. From the masks he was able to determine that these were no ordinary ANBUs, so the only one who would be able to send them flying would be, none other than, the kage himself. ’Oh no.. I must hurry’ thinking to himself, he realized that while he just stood there. The fight had been taken to the Tetsukage. What kind of an ANBU was he that he couldn’t even protect the kage at this time of need. It wasn’t that he needed protecting, but it was the duty of the ANBU to eliminate all threats before the kage needed to move a finger. He had to choose between the root that he had been in for so long, and his true duty. Protecting the village, the innocent, and the man who was a symbol of strength, valor, and the prime guardian of the village, the tetsukage.  

Then, Ryu would start attacking the ANBU, assisting the few jounins defending the village. He would begin to take out the ANBU that were meant as a diversion. Scattering his sand all over the area, he would use all the sand that would be around. Making more and more sand within the ground, his sand based jutsus would be seen from a distance of 20 meters. Sand flying everywhere, and wherever the sand cloud would appear. The attacks of the ANBUs would subside, it would seem that the sand is everywhere. Taking out the attackers.

Indeed, not an easy decision, but he didn’t take long. He had made up his mind. A root that could cause such damage without discriminating among enemies and friends. He didn’t want any part of it. He began to make his way to the direction where the two ANBU members had come from, it wouldn’t take him long now to reach the location.


He saw his comrades being thrown away like they were nothing. Drogan had hoped that the two would help him take down the Kage as he had little hope of taking him down by himself, well, not really. Even though the two had been friends, and they were aware of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Drongan had a plan, he knew that the Kage was a jin, and if somehow he would enrage the Kage, it would make it easier for him to take control.

The attack that he had launched was actually just a symbol, a sign, as to say that he wanted nothing more but just fight. The attack that he launched missed the kage, but hit the kage building. Causing serious damage to the building. Attacking the kage building, that was a declaration of war, not to mention saying that the office of the kage, meant nothing to him. He didn’t accept it, neither did he respect it.
Right when Mokusei would hit the two ANBU members, Drogan would move, flanking Mokusei from the left. He would launch a lightening based jutsu, a wolf made of lightening, the range from where he would launch the jutsu, that is the distance from Mokusei  would be 5m. Making the jutsu, difficult to dodge.

Jutsu:

It was a shame, Drogan wasn't going to let the deaths of his trusted ANBU to get in his way. He really didn't care, it was disgusting that he treated his comrades and friends this way, and normally it would make Mokusei angrier, but right now he felt nothing. No pain, no fear, and no remorse, no feelings came up to him. The Four Tailed tried to talk to him, but no words reached Mokusei's ears. He looked at Drogan, and saw only the target, the victim, the corpse.

Drogan was now to his left, launching a jutsu aimed for Mokusei's head, his Lightning Wolf, It seemed he was tricky even if Mokusei knew his ways, but Mokusei knew what to do. Acting on instinct and not much else, Mokusei dropped to the ground, in such a way as he was right below Drogan. He then unleashed hell, standing up on one leg, with the other kicking Drogan in the face, launching him high into the sky, before Mokusei jumped to be higher than Drogan. He then raised one leg up, and poured all of his chakra into it, before speaking once more to his former ally and friend, "Items can be rebuilt, but I'll make sure you never return. Goodbye, my friend" Then that one leg, with all that chakra, was forced down to collide with Drogan's head, crushing him, and launching down into the already destroyed Kage's office, where a crater was all that remained.

Jutsu Used:

Moving all around the village, Ryu accompanied with his sand. Finally had managed to subside the attacks, he was the high ranking  jounin in the village, so whenever he appeared at location that was under attack. The tides of battle would turn in the favor of the shinobi that would be defending the village. Even though Ryu was a member of the root, he had sided with the shinobi protecting the village, instead of siding with his comrades. Now, the battles that were meant as a distraction were finally over, as Ryu began to make his way towards the Kage building. He knew that the kage was able enough to protect himself, but it was drogan, and who knew what would he have up his sleeves.  

Moving at the fastest speed as he could, Ryu headed for the building, that was still standing. He could now hear the sounds of ration, so it was obvious that Drogan was in the direction he was heading, but before he could get in visual range of the two fighting. Ryu, stopped, standing still, the fights that he had been having till this time, had him covered in sweat, but, what he saw, and the sound he heard, put him under a state of paralysis. ”…it.. can’t be.. the Kage building. It’s… destroyed?” That was all he could muster up, the building that was the symbol of strength of the village. The office of the Tetsukage, was destroyed. What if the Kage was still in the building? No, he must’ve engaged Drogan by then. Could it be that Drogan had managed to somehow subdue the Tetsukage?

It wasn’t likely, but as much as he hated it, it was a possibility. In the shinobi world, everything is a possibility, and people like drogan are capable of many dark and destructive things such as this. After pausing for a minute, standing still, looking at the destroyed office of the kage. Ryu mustered up his courage, he wasn’t one to be shaken this badly, but this wasn’t some normal building, nor was this any other life.  He headed in the direction of the kage’s office, more and more faster, soon he was within visual range of the office. There, he saw the kage, standing strong and firm as ever. It was then when Ryu sighed with relief. It was obvious what had happened now, if the Tetsukage was there, still standing, obviously the reason why the building was destroyed, would be that he sent Drogan flying into the building.

Ryu stood in a range where he could address the kage, but before he could speak. He sensed a rush of chakra, it was too strong and overwhelming, even though the Kage had managed to do some serious damage, it appeared, the battle wasn’t over yet.


Drogan took the full damage of the attack, and was sent flying into the building, destroying the building and almost every bone in his body. Any normal shinobi would just die after something like that, but the man was the leader of the ANBU root for a reason. He intended to take down the kage and become the kage himself to ensure that the village would flourish and become stronger. But, if he wasn’t going to become the kage himself, he was still going to take this one down, so that any one of those shinobi that had the same mind set as his would take the role of the Kage. He didn’t knew, that all of those shinobi, were either dead or subdued. There was a pill that he carried with himself, just for such an occasion.

Somehow, he managed to take the pill after he crashed into the building. A surge of chakra went through his body, now, he felt he could do anything. He released a charge of chakra, throwing the rubble on top of him, and standing, where he once laid. Though, he wasn’t visible due to the dust cloud that had appeared as the building was destroyed.

Pill:

Watching his own work as Drogan was sent spiralling into Mokusei's own building, the Tetsukage sighed, "Probably should've thought about that before, now I'll need to repair it. If only there was some easy way for me to be able manipulate some sort of building material, maybe steel, or wood, or... Oh yeah, wood." Having seemingly ended the battle, he felt in high spirits. The village was safe now. he had felt the oppressors' chakra signals cease, one by one. Someone, or maybe a group of people, had protected the village. Maybe not all the ANBU had turned, or maybe, just maybe, there were new ANBU members willing to join the ranks. After all, there were going to be a few spaces.

It was then Mokusei noticed one of these saviours arrive, a boy whose name he knew well: Ryu Akihito: the youngest ANBU Mokusei had ever appointed during his time as Kage, having been only a chuunin then. He was now a jounin, and he had clearly showed his loyalty over the past few months, made obvious by the fact he wasn't one of the chakra pressures that Mokusei had felt attacking the village, rather he had been one of the ones defending Seikogakure. The Tetsukage motioned him over with a wave of his hand.


It was then Mokusei received a warning from the Four Tailed, resting within him, "Moku, look out. It seems this obstacle hasn't yet been overcome just yet. There's still some fight left in him." Before he could reflect on these words, the Tetsukage felt a power, an incredible power, one at the level of The Four Tailed's, and worst of all: it was coming from the destroyed Kage building. Mokusei had forget, that damned pill. "The Ninth Gate" as Drogan had used to call it, a way to unlock all the chakra gates at once, entering the eight gate's mode, and gaining all the power within. This was the one thing Mokusei had feared would happen, but Drogan would only survive for another few minutes, so all he had to do was bide his time, and protect Ryu from this monster.
