| Hello and welcome to the NarutoR staff! This should be the FIRST topic you read as new staff member. In here is a list of what is expected of you in public and in private. It also tells you what special bonuses YOU as a staff member get! Fun times right? First are the rules of being staff: 1) Everyone sees you. - Spoiler:
You are an example to every member on this board. As a staff member, regardless of your rank, people will be watching you much more closely than anyone else. You have to keep yourself above any petty squabbling and siding. You are only on one side and that is the side of the site. Your main goal is to improve the experience of members here regardless of whether they're new or old. As such, you will be held to a much higher standard than any members. You are expected to keep your cool at all times and if you feel you cannot handle a situation you ask for help.
2) We are a team. - Spoiler:
The biggest thing I have see that destroys a good staff is one or two members acting above themselves. I'll put this incredibly blunt. I am in charge. If I say that my decision is final, it is final. However as a team, I welcome any and all input from my staff. I will do my best to be open with all of you, and in return I ask the same from you. As another note, as a team, we support each other. We do not tear down ideas and insult each others work. In public, we will be calm and professional with each other, backing a decision unless you have a very good reason not to. The public will see us as a united face.
3) Ask for help. - Spoiler:
I confess this is one of my greatest weaknesses. But even I'm working with it. So please, if you are feeling lost, if you have a question, if your work load is too much, or if you just need a change of task then please tell someone. We are here to work together and get things done. We share the same goals. Don't let yourself drown because you're afraid of making a mistake.
4) Make mistakes. - Spoiler:
That's right. You are allowed to make mistakes. I'm not going to kick anyone to the curb because they tried something and it failed. We learn from our mistakes faster than anything else. That being said, please be careful how gung ho you get about it. We want you to learn but we don't want you to get hurt doing it. If I assign you a task, then that is your task. Run with it, make it your own, and don't worry too much if you get something wrong. I am a strong believer in handing off authority as well as responsibility. So don't sweat the small stuff.
5) Staff stuff is for staff only. - Spoiler:
My absolute biggest pet peeve is when I say something in a staff area and the next day a non-staff member is quoting me on it. What is said in any staff areas are to be kept secret until an Admin or someone appointed by an Admin allows them to be released. This includes Skype. If the members were meant to know it, we'd have already posted it.
6) You're not untouchable. - Spoiler:
This rule has a few applications. For one, none of your characters are untouchable just because you're staff. They can all be killed and they can get in trouble. IC you are who you are, you are not staff, you are a character in a world. This rule also means that if it is decided that you are not fit to be staff for any reason, you can be removed without warning. So consider yourself warned.
So with those rules out of the way, now we get to the more fun part. The perks of being a staff member. As a staff member, you will receive 50 Skill Points (Which will be explained more clearly later) every month. Staff members also will be allowed one extra SC every month, which is HALF the time of non-staff members. Staff obviously get the chance to see what is coming up before everyone else. Most importantly, staff will be given precedence on plot items/jutsu/characters. You've shown your commitment to the site, it is only right that you be rewarded for it. If you have any comments or questions, throw them down! I'm looking forward to working with each of you.

| I understand and agree. Though I think I should put my own piece of advice in here.
As a PAC Moderator, the Moderator performing the checks got half of the PAC that either the highest paid character got or the average got, something like that. So I'm not new to staff rewards. I also think that staff rewards should be based more on how much the person does that benefits the site, rather than them just being a staff member. This can be graded by staff and members of the site, as the members know more than anything just how much of a positive or negative impact a staff member has had on them, and in any case, if one member rates them unfairly, personal grudges are obvious.
Only reason I say this is, as an RPer, I've never liked if staff is just higher than the players in their RP just because they're staff. Contributions should be made worth the while, though, I'm just saying that a staff member's contributions should be tallied up at the end of a month and then whatever rewards for that should be tacked onto what a normal member gets.
If this is confusing or you'd like a part cleared up, you can send me a Skype through the chat. I'd be willing to clear things up, but I think I did a good job explaining what I mean here.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day, Mappel
