Kazan Isamu: The Story So Far.

Isamu's mother Aoi was a medical ninja who served for Kirigakure no Sato. She served the other ninja in the village who went out for missions. She was an expert. There was no wound she did not know how to cure. But a doctor needs her medicine to cure the patient, she was no magician. She was a great medic nevertheless. Isamu's father Shozo, was one of Aoi's patients. He was a ninjutsu expert. He fell for Aoi and after a long time they married and had two children. The elder one was named Isamu and the younger one was named Jirou. Isamu was named after Shozo's father, they had very similar physical traits. Jirou was named after Aoi's father asthey had similar physical traits as well. Isamu lived a happy childhood for a while. He learned a lot from Shozo. He taught him lots of valuable lessons on how to use Kazan jutsu. He told Isamu to teach Jirou when he grows older. Isamu promised to do so. In fact, Isamu learned more and put more effort into it so that he can teach Jirou.

Eager to do as told, Isamu tried twice as hard to keep up with his father and train intensely to learn as much as he could. His father taught him many things. He taught him the Goukakyuu no Jutsu, his signature technique as a Genin. However, Shozo could not teach him Yoton techniques as he was incapable of learning them because he was a Genin and did not know both of the elements required to unlock the advanced element. Isamu only possessed Katon, not Doton. Both of them were needed for Yoton. Nonetheless, his father continued to demonstrate Yoton techniques for his future reference and he listened carefully, even hopelessly trying them a few times.

Sadly, Shozo passed away in battle before Isamu finished his training. He was left heartbroken. Since that day he lived everyday in his father's name. It took him years to recover. He soon took Shozo's responsibility to take care of his mother and his younger brother. The wound that his father's death left in his heart would never be healed. However, he was able to ignore the pain and carry on as he knew that's what his father would want him to do. He soon regained his old personality, the bratty dumb little miscreant.

After some training in the academy, Isamu graduated. He was then a Genin. He was a little old too be one but that was only because he trained under his father when he was younger. He went to the academy only after Shozo passed away, he did not attend before that and took personal training under his father's guidance. Despite that, or more because of that, he was slightly better than the others at the academy. Now that he was a Genin, there were people better than him at his rank, he had some catching up to do. He went through loads of adventures as a Genin. He met many influencing people while being in this rank namely Yuki Kuroichi, Awa Sanji, Yamanaka Ino Yagura, Awa Kaoru and most importantly, Yamanaka Inoshi.

He met Kuroichi, better known as Crona, along with Sanji in the Training Fields where he fought them on a two-one-one battle. Before this fight even began, all of the participants agreed not to use Jutsu that were not taught in the academy. At first, all of them kept to the agreement and fought without non-academy Jutsu, using kunai and other weaponry to strike. However, it did not take Isamu long to be provoked and break the rule. Sanji and Crona threw explosive seals attached on kunai at Isamu. After taking the hit, Crona uttered the word "Monshi" which meant "Die in agony" in Japanese. This flipped Isamu off as he used the Replacement Technique in the last minute of the explosion, taking a majority of it before appearing behind them and firing his Goukakyuu at Crona who had her clothes burnt off in the battle. This forced her to flee and have somewhat of a grudge against Isamu for breaking his vow. Isamu felt no guilt as he had a proper excuse and did not regret any of his actions as he kept flinching from the pain of the first degree burns caused by the explosives thrown at him. Since they were first degree burns, the pain did not occur the instant he received the burn and gave him enough time to act before being unable to fight properly due to the irritation and flinching.

After their battle, they met Inoshi in their second encounter (among the group, Inoshi not included), who said he took them into his team because they were "weak" and "pathetic". This once again flipped Isamu off and he even considered attacking Inoshi with a knife while swearing and abusing him. Luckily for Isamu, Sanji stopped him before he could act and told him to beat Inoshi in his own game. Listening to his comrade, Isamu walked off. Crona's appearances were decreased after that. Sanji and Isamu met a third time in a two-on-one testing match-up where they had to take out a tag attached on Inoshi without letting him take their own tags off of them.

On his way back home from his first encounter with Inoshi, Isamu met Yamanka Ino-Yagura and Yamanka Ino-Kana also known as Akimori in another two-on-one match where both Yamanaka clansmen took him on. However, he did not know much about Kana. The boy seemed like a child when he met him and now, when he asks for "Akimori", people describe him as a teenager. Isamu got into a fight with them out of pure curiosity. He knew that Inoshi was a Yamanaka and that he would make him fight him in one way or another and thus wanted to know more about how Yamanka shinobi fought. Being as angry as he was, he uttered few words as he lashed at Yagura, causing Akimori to act on the hype of the moment and attack him from behind, making it a two on-one situation. In the end, Isamu sent a Goukakyuu at Yagura but the target dodged it and it hit a building, knocking it down, causing both them to retreat as he was hit by a flying building part and knocked unconscious. Quite ironically, it was his second ever fight with another Kirigakure shinobi (other than his father and occasional brother) and it was his second two-on-one fight that ended with his Goukakyuu burning something to force an end to the fight; The second time being a construction site and the first time being Crona's clothes. Anyway, when he woke up, he found that he had no memory of the fight whatsoever. He only remembered Yagura's name and he did not remember what he was fighting for or how he was knocked unconscious.

Isamu looked for and met Yagura a second time and challenged him for a singles rematch while asking about their previous encounter as soon as he found him. They had a short, yet intense match in which they fiercely assaulted each-other. Unfortunately for Isamu, he lost the fight fairly and luckily remained alive. Isamu had used the Mist Waltz without thinking and his own Jutsu caused him when Yagura ignited the mist himself while keeping a distance. Isamy accepted defeat and walked away .... barely. Yagura was left with scratches and torn clothes for Isamu had failed to land anymore attacks on the boy. This motivated Isamu to try harder in order to beat Yagura one day.

Kazan Isamu was told several times in his childhood that he would be unable to ever exceed the rank of Genin, ever reach the rank of Chuunin. They had every reason to say so. Isamu scored terribly in his Academic Written Exams. He had a reputation for being dumb and he was on the bad side of many people he had met. However, Isamu proved all of them wrong in a way when he got promoted to the Chuunin rank when he was sixteen years old. For a guy who started his academics almost five years late, turning Chuunin at an average age was somewhat a feat. Isamu had his bragging rights.

Isamu reached the Chuunin rank by winning the First Kirigakure Chuunin Exams. The battle was held in Kame Island. Most Genin of the village were sent to the Island to solve a certain "mystery". Isamu was one of them. He volunteered due to the fact that being on the Kame Island was like a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Island disappeared often and it was hard to reach the Island before it goes back in. Since the Council offered this "deal", Isamu decided to take part, just to set his foot on Kame Island. He did just that. After he arrived at the shore, he began wandering around, avoiding letters as he had trouble with English reading, and collecting precious items as decorations and collectibles, completely forgetting about the task at hand. He even collected a handkerchief to wipe his nose and he actually did wipe his nose in it. He ended up in a swamp in front of a treasure chest where he suddenly remembered why he was originally sent to the Island. He opened the chest to find a letter telling him that he was in the Chuunin Exams and that he was to face someone by the name Kaoru.

Right in front of him was another boy, wearing sunglasses, a skirt, a bandana covering the bottom half of his face while wearing a sailor shirt. The outfit was hilarious. Isamu thought so. He kept chuckling until he got a taste of the boy's fury. Isamu evaded the Awa clansman's Explosive Bubble in the last moment with the Replacement Technique and felt its impact from a long distance. The force was enough to knock him off his feet and make him land on his bum despite the fact that he was far away from the explosion. From there, everything seemingly went downhill. He overestimated his opponent and fought cautiously for the first time in his life. In the end, he was able to regain his natural, gutsy and dumb instincts and beat the boy using several Katon Jutsu namely Mist Waltz, Goukakyuu no Jutsu. After the battle, Isamu went to check on his opponent to see if he was alive but he did not know how to check. Seeing that he was too weak to walk, he leaned on a tree, near unconsciousness.

The next day, he woke up to find himself in his house. He was somehow delivered home. He soon found out that the boy survived as well and was glad to hear that. Despite being a mist ninja, he rarely had the urge to kill. He helped those he got into trouble and he often did get people into trouble.

A few days after the Kame Island incident, Yamanka Inoshi, despite all odds, included Isamu in his final team selections. He put together the team of Yuki Kazuya, Kaguya Tsurino and Kazan Isamu to the purpose of teamwork. Isamu and Kazuya both possessed similar instincts and personalities. Tsurino was different. Maybe she was the wits and the main attacking method for the team. Isamu met his new team later in Village Harbor 348 where Inoshi explains to them their tactics and they get to meet each-other.
